When the numbers need attention
Understand your cash position, what customers owe and the supplier balances that need attention.
Investigate unexplained balances, duplicate entries and reconciliation problems before they keep growing.
Clarify responsibilities and improve finance processes so tasks move forward with fewer unnecessary steps.
Find the waste. Make better use of your team.
A structured review of how your business actually works: what staff do and cover, where tasks overlap, where work gets stuck and how your people and resources could be used more effectively.
We map responsibilities and workflows, examine available workload evidence and discuss findings with your team. Recommendations focus on better use of skills, clearer ownership and avoidable costs.
Any staffing recommendations follow the evidence and remain decisions for the business owner, with appropriate HR advice where needed.
One-off fee. Final scope and applicable VAT confirmed in your proposal.
The 45 days describe the agreed review period, not 45 full days of consultant time. Price depends on staff numbers, sites, systems and review depth. Access, interviews, observation and reporting dates are agreed before starting. Implementation beyond the agreed review scope is quoted separately.
Discuss a business reviewHow the review works
Understand roles, cover arrangements, systems and workflows through agreed interviews, observation and records.
Check duplication, workload imbalances, unnecessary costs and bottlenecks against the evidence and discuss them with the team.
Present the findings, prioritise improvements and hand over an action tracker showing responsibilities and measures of progress.
Illustrative example · Not a client case study
Consider a hypothetical business operating for 48 weeks a year. If a review identified the opportunities below and the business implemented the changes, the annual effect could look like this:
| Opportunity | Calculation | Annual effect |
|---|---|---|
| Remove duplicate administration | 10 hours/week × £25/hour fully loaded staff cost × 48 weeks | £12,000 capacity value |
| Reduce unnecessary overtime | 5 overtime hours/week × £30/hour × 48 weeks | £7,200 cash saving |
| Cancel unused software subscriptions | £200/month × 12 months | £2,400 cash saving |
| Reduce avoidable processing rework | 4 hours/week × £25/hour fully loaded staff cost × 48 weeks | £4,800 capacity value |
£9,600 potential annual cash savings
plus £16,800 of released staff capacity.
£26,400 combined illustrative annual value. The examples assume separate, non-overlapping time savings and that the changes are maintained.
Released capacity gives existing staff more time for useful work; it does not automatically reduce payroll or increase profit. In this example, £9,600 of cash savings would not cover a £10,000 review fee in the first year. Review fees, implementation costs and applicable VAT are excluded from the figures. Actual opportunities and results depend on the business, available evidence and implementation; savings are not guaranteed.
Monthly finance & operations support
For established businesses that need ongoing financial oversight and practical help improving their processes.
The engagement starts with a review of your records and requirements. We agree a defined monthly scope that fits your business.
Construction, engineering and service businesses are a particular focus.
£2,000 / month
Final scope and applicable VAT confirmed in your proposal.
Historic clean-ups, daily transaction processing and payroll delivery are separately scoped. Statutory accounts, audit and tax advice are outside this offer.
Discuss your requirementsFor start-ups and businesses organising their finance systems
A properly organised system from the start, helping prevent coding errors and costly clean-up work later.
Get your accounting software structured around your business, with clear records and practical processes ready for your bookkeeper to take over.
We agree the setup requirements with you and, where appropriate, your bookkeeper or accountant before making changes.
The fee depends on the software, records, nominal codes, items and handover required. Opening balances and specialist VAT treatments are agreed with your accountant where needed. Software subscriptions, historic clean-ups and ongoing bookkeeping are separately scoped.
Request a setup quoteExperience that gets practical
Founded by Adele McLoughlin, Eleda draws on experience spanning finance operations, management accounting and the day-to-day work of getting financial records into shape.
That experience includes identifying duplicate payments, investigating accounting migration errors, uncovering missed VAT items for review and challenging processes that duplicated work.
Eleda brings that investigative approach to each engagement: understand the issue, check the evidence and agree a practical way forward. Where specialist tax or accounting advice is needed, Eleda works alongside your adviser.

Yes. We can organise the chart of accounts, nominal codes, items, records and agreed VAT settings, test sample transactions and prepare a documented handover. The one-off setup is priced on request after reviewing your requirements.
No. We identify opportunities supported by evidence, explain assumptions and distinguish cash savings from released capacity. The business decides which recommendations to implement. Better use of existing staff can be an outcome without reducing headcount.
The proposal sets the review timetable, interviews, evidence collection, analysis, reporting and tracker handover. It is a project period, not a commitment to 45 full working days. Additional implementation support is separately agreed.
Yes, subject to an initial review. Historic repair work is quoted separately so the recurring service stays focused and manageable.
The service provides ongoing finance and operations support and can complement your accountant’s year-end and specialist work.
